Nodal Shift – North Node in Cancer & Southern Node in Capricorn

This would be my first post about the nodes. I have spent some time slowly learning about the Northern and Southern Nodes so I felt like it was time to incorporate them in my blogging. I chose to use the Lying Cat from the graphic novel Saga and Matagot from The Crimes of Grindelwald. I felt like these two Pop Funkos paired one another well visually, as well as metaphorically representing the metaphysical meanings behind the nodes. Please enjoy the collection of quotes about the Nodel shift. You can click on the links to read the whole articles.

Astrologically, November 6—Election Day in the U.S.—arrives with a tide-turning moment. As the moon’s North Node, AKA, the “cosmic destiny point,” leaves Leo’s gilded palace and decamps to Cancer’s watery hearth until May 5, 2020. As voters around the country have been counting down the days, this major lunar move could indeed mark a watershed midterm election for us all.

The North Node is your “Cup Runneth Over” and the South Node is “the drain” . . or “hole in your chart” . . or more popularly known as the “Bottomless Pit”. Simply put, when you put energy into your North Node you cannot fail and your cup will run over. When you put energy into your South Node, the energy falls through like a hole in your pocket. No matter how much energy you put into the South Node it will be a drain, like the drain in the bathtub without a stopper and it will become a bottomless pit. The South Node is that which you have already done in past lives and there is absolutely no need to relive it because you already have the experience and knowledge. The North Node is that which you need to migrate to having everything you need (the South Node) to get there. While you may not feel as though you’d be successful living as a North Node (the sign below) . . believe me, you will be because you cannot fail. You can be fearful and not do it because you haven’t done it before but you’ll always feel a lack or longing to do something and THAT IS your North Node.

Cancer represents our home, our roots, our traditions, what makes us feel safe and nurtured. Cancer is a symbol for the mother or the nurturer. Capricorn represents the society, what we aspire towards, our career, our status, our reputation. Capricorn is a symbol for the father or the authority.

Because the South Node of the past is in Capricorn, and the North Node of free will is in Cancer, our lesson is to fix our Capricorn-related karma (authority, career, ambition, reputation, and status) through the energy of Cancer (comfort, security, building a ‘home’ whatever that means for us).

Forrest Astrology says

As the sign that rules families, domestic affairs and the divine feminine, the world’s “sensitivity chip” may finally be reinstalled—especially after a year-plus of ego-trips, elitism and tempestuous Twitter wars (the shadow side of the Leo North Node). Since Cancer is an insular sign, border policies may become stricter in many countries, but perhaps kinder to those who are let in to unfamiliar places and spaces….

The Cancer north node. We all need some gentleness now. We all need some healing. We all need a rest. It starts with being kinder to ourselves. From there, it spreads out towards others. From there, it can heal this tired, battered world.

I used the Pop Funko Lying Cat from the graphic novel Saga to represent the North Node and  Matagot from The Crimes of Grindelwald to represent the Southern Node. I used HIM from Powerpuff Girls to represent Cancer and the Lucky the Goat from the movie Despicable Me to represent  Capricorn.
